Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP)

Traditional mental health programs fail when they do not account for an individual’s life circumstances, unique gifts, needs and desires. At Barn Life Recovery, we’ve cultivated an evidence-based partial hospitalization program to nurture and inspire. During our full-day program, you’ll use the cement of our safe and supportive community to rebuild your foundation. By inspiring wanderers from all walks of life and facilitating a nurtured soul, we provide mental health services to Love Life Again.

What is a PHP?

Our PHP (partial hospitalization program) is an 5-hour, full-day program that allows clients to sleep in their own beds while simultaneously receiving intensive mental health treatment.

Recognized by the Joint Commission, we provide you with the time and space needed to restore your self-mastery. Focus on your emotional, physical, spiritual and mental well-being without being confined by inpatient services.

When Do I Need a PHP?

Our partial hospitalization program is best for adults struggling with mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder and substance dependencies that do not require detoxification. Our program track is tailored to the individual and generally lasts anywhere from 30-120 days.

We have proven success among clients who previously received mental health services with little success. From teachers that need a well-deserved break to LGBTQ+ young adults struggling with identity – the thriving Barn Life community welcomes you.

What to Expect

Before

When you join us for a free community event, you’ll notice the lush, green bamboo scraping the bluest sky you ever saw. When you’re ready, check out our admissions process to get answers to frequently asked questions. We make the admissions process simple and effortless by dealing with your insurance company directly.

During

While in our program, you’ll spend roughly 5 hours a day, Monday – Friday, receiving innovative, comprehensive and evidence-based mental health treatment. Challenging exaggerated or distorted views of the self, our community encourages one another to recognize and celebrate our accomplishments.

Reflecting eons of knowledge, our holistic approach incorporates eastern philosophy, the power of the outdoors for Vitamin D, and mindfulness-based therapies. All in an effort to better understand the cause of our suffering, our place in the world and the human condition as a whole.

Outside our PHP building, a smiling Buddha statue holds a large square wooden guitar. Blue-gray rocks line the ground.

After

Throughout our partial hospitalization program, you’ll master relationship, vocational and life skills in aftercare groups. Inevitably, when it’s time to start the next chapter, you will stand atop a rebuilt foundation and feel grounded, focused and calm. Likewise, our community will remain a lifetime resource every step of the way.

Our Approach

The word “holistic” is rooted in a philosophy that states that parts of a whole are interdependent. This means the whole is only as valuable as its individual parts. No single therapy, therapist, or treatment can heal one’s mental well-being. However, when we approach mental health by looking at the whole of the person’s body mind and soul, we are able to more effectively help.

Barn Life is uniquely special. As someone who has had long stretches of sobriety with "traditional" communities and methods, Barn Life stepped in when I started struggling during the pandemic and said "traditional" methods failed to help. The staff here are exceptional. This is a truly subjective statement, but it is my honest opinion that the people from the owner (Hi Matt!) to EVERYONE else works there because they believe in the work and want to share the tools they found.Barn Life and their little sibling, Peer Mental Wellness were the launchpad from a shell of an existence to person with self-love/respect, and a life-mission of personal development.

Best for someone looking for spiritual healing in addition to their mental health healing.

Barn life is probably one of the most amazing facilities you could ever attend when it comes to mental illness. This was the first place that popped up when I was searching for help and I’m so thankful that it did. The environment is very therapeutic, the staff is awesome, and the group discussions and activities were so helpful in me understanding what I was experiencing. Do not hesitate to be a part of this place. It’s literally a game changer. I was only there for 6 weeks but I wished I stayed at least 6 months. Ever since returning home, I’ve been much happier and my perspective has changed dramatically. I’ve done things and participated in events at my college that I never thought I would be able to do. This place is truly amazing and I’m forever grateful that I found this place.

My daughter has been at Barn Life Recovery now for two months. It was my last resort to send her 9 hours away from me. She has been in drug and mental health rehabs in and out for two years. This was my last stitch effort to save my daughter and get her back to herself. Alyssa and I spoke multiple times before deciding. Their willingness to do everything for her and the different teams they have work with them is amazing. My daughter is happy again and clean and sober. She loves it there in their outpatient program. They restore your faith in humanity. They help restore someone who is broken in so many places to themselves. They have put the light back in my daughters eyes. They are committed to helping each person who truly wants the help. They assist in helping them get jobs and be responsible members of society. I recommend their program to anyone wanting to recover from drug, alcohol and mental health.Thank you to all the people at Barn Life who have made my daughter smile and bring the light back to her eyes. I am truly grateful.DawnaLee
